Breaching Instructor

Paul is currently a member of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (FL), where he has been a deputy since January of 2000. He’s been a detective for the past seven years, and worked in the Special Victim’s Unit before taking his current assignment as a member of the US Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force. As a member of the task force, he coordinates and is the lead instructor conducting tactical training for local, state, and federal agencies.

Paul has been a member of the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team for the past ten years, and currently serves as one of the team’s squad leaders, as well as the lead breacher. As the lead breacher, he has participated in multiple operational explosive breaches, and coordinates the breachers’ monthly specialty training.

Paul is certified as a firearms instructor including pistol, shotgun, rifle, and master rifle. He also instructs for his team in the areas of basic and advanced entries/tactics, vehicle/vessel assaults, chemical agent, less lethal, FSDD, ballistic/mechanical breaching, and is a rappelmaster. He holds instructor certifications with the State of Florida, National Tactical Officer’s Association, Florida SWAT Association, and is a Master Firearms instructor through the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors.
